Buggies in Malaga Airport

I wonder if you could help us we are coming in June and bringing my 83 year old farther he is able to walk but is very slow and not able to walk far.On previous visits we have notice people being picked up on little carts like golf buggies.Do you have to order these? Pay for them? etc. Could you give us any information about the procedure.

Thank you Miss Franks.

Hi Pauline,
Generally these buggies are always around when a plane lands to help people that need it on board.

I dont think you need to pay for it although I have seen people drop them a fiver who are absolutely find to walk!

You should mention it to your airline though and also just before landing mention it to the air steward. But gernarlly there is always a buggy and they can always call a nother one if needed.

Carrying Baby Milk in Hand Luggage

Hello Jo

We are travelling from Malaga to UK with a 4 month old baby and are worried about how we can carry sufficient bottle feeds for the journey, allowing for delays etc, which could mean carrying three bottles each of 200 ml. Can you advise please on current airport policy?

Thank you very much.

Sharon Kirk

Hi,
To be honest Im not 100% sure. If its liquid, they may ask you to test it and if its powder too.
Best thing to do is to acutally call your airline or better still call the airport (0034) 952 048 838. to double check.

If it is sealed cartons that may be ok.

Good luck

JOanne

Thanks Joanne, I will take your advice.

Hotel near Malaga Airport

Hi JoLike your web site re Malaga airport. Can't find what I need tho.I want a one night B&B stopover for Weds 30 / Thurs 31 May convenient to the airport so that I can travel on the next day by local buses. I do not know Malaga or this region at all. Looking on the web, it is all holiday accommodation. I am a 67yr old male travelling light (hand luggage only) to join a friend somewhere along the coast west towards Gib. I have booked a flight from Coventry to Malaga for convenience but there is only one a day and it arrives too late in the day for onward travel. I could get the last fast bus of the day to Marbella but then get stuck for 7 hours overnight at the bus station. I looked at your FAQ and I expected to find the answer but it is not there (yet!). I cannot be the only one needing this. thanks , Bob A

My Reply...

Hi,
The nearest hotel to Malaga Airport is the IBIS HOTEL Malaga. YOu can find this hotel on malaga-airport-guide.com and go to hotels.

THere is not a hotel at the airport at the moment.

If you got the bus to Marbella Bus Station you still then need to get a bus or taxi to either marbella or puerto banus to stay in a hotel. There are lots of b and bs in Marbella Old Town and also PYR HOtel in Puerto Banus.

I hope this helps.

Joanne

thx Jo 4 reply. Good of you and it will do nicely. RegardsBob A

Hotel Torrequebrada Benalmadena

Jo,

Eliz here we are planning a holiday in malaga and want something special i have found a hotel
on the net its called Torrequebrada Hotel and Casino, Benalmadena do you know this hotel ?

Also could you let us know how far it is to walk inside the terminal from arrival gate to
taxis etc....

Also how far from entrance to departure gate for Belfast ?

I have also sent you an email from the malaga air port site which is where I got your details ,,,

Many thanks,

Eliz and Liam .

My Reply...

I have heard of Torrequebrada Hotel and Casino and have heard that the shows are really good and also the food.
From inside the Terminal where you collect your luggage to the taxis is not far at all. Just 1 or 2 minutes walk.
Planes from Belfast Im not too sure.
The walk can be quite a long walk from where you leave the plane to collect your luggage depending on where the planes land etc. generally Iberia (spanish airlines) gets the best spots.
If you are asking as maybe you need one of the buggies, generally they are there when you depart the plane.
I hope this answers your questions.

Leaving your car at Malaga Airport

Hi Jo
I have read your previous reply re no lockers at Malaga airport. Can you advise best location in the airport to leave a car hire vehicle for the day so that we are able to leave our luggage in boot.We are planning to take a bus into town on the last day of our holiday. Can you also advise on location and frequency of buses to the centre of Malaga and return. Many Thanks
Gaye Sparks

Hi Jeremy,
Sorry for the delay.
At the moment P3 at Malaga Airport is still free. There is a bus that then takes you to the terminal.
Generally car crime isnt that bad but obviously you have to take care and make sure nothing is on show.
Or you could just park in the car park by the terminal undercover and pay.
Kind regards
Joanne

Many Thanks
Jeremy

Malaga to La Carihuela

Hi there,Wondering if you can help me please - I`m flying into Malaga and want to get from the airport to the C / Los Nidos, in the La Carihuela beach area, to which is served by i think Montemar train station - but unsure - could you clarify this is the right station as to where i am to get off and also what number train would i ask for ? .Hope to hear from you soon. Regards Mrs Kath Hamnett

My Reply...

Im Sorry, Im not exactly too sure where that is.

You can have a look on www.googlemaps.com which should be able to help.

Here is a link i have done for you. Here

It looks like El Pinillo is the nearest station.

The trains are www.renfe.es and you need to go to cercanias (local trains)

Alternatively www.britishexpats.com is a fantastic website to ask questions.

Hi JoanneThank you so much.Your help is greatly appreciated.Regards Linda

Hi Linda,
Im sorry, but this is one of those cases where the airline blames the airport and the airport blames the airline.

The only thing I can think of is that you call http://www.mobility-spain.com/ who are predominatly for weelchairs etc but they may be able to help or know someone else that can help.

Good Luck

Regards

Joanne

ONCE is a big charity here for deaf and blind people, and generally the Spanish are quite apprechiative of peoples needs. So if they can get to the information desk Im pretty sure that someone will see that they do need help.

It would be great to hear how they got on as we really are trying our best to get more information for people with disabilities on the website to help others.

Kind regards

Joanne

Dogs at Malaga Airport

Hi!We will arrive at Malaga airport on the 22nd of June this summer. FromStockholm we also bring our dog and, as required from the airline, a reallybig cage for him.The problem is, since the cage is big, we would like to deposit it in theairport until we go back to Sweden, the 18th of July.Do you have any idea if this would be possible? Of course, we are preparedto pay for the service.Best regards,

My Reply...

Hi Lena

As far as I know there is no left luggage store at the airport.

However best to maybe call the airport and check with them if there is somewhere to leave the cage.

Malaga Telephone Numbers Here

Good luck

Regards

Joanne

ps: We often receive emails asking about travelling with animals - what happens etc. If you could let us know when you return, that would be great to pass on information to everyone else.

have a great holiday
