More items stolen from suitcase at Malaga Aiport

Hello

I thought I would mail your site ..

It nice to see Malaga Airport staff broke in my locked and strapped suitcase and stole 100 euros out of it.

Thanks Malaga Airport Staff ..

You enjoy it ????

S

My Reply

Im Sorry to hear about your suitcase.

In case you are unaware, we are not Malaga Airport. We write about it, but we are not it. We have received many emails about this and is all on our Message Board if you would like to see other peoples emails.

I have made numerous calls to the airport and airlines onbehalf of the many people that have emailed us. The airline that you fly with is whom you have a contract with. They must be informed everytime this happens, then hopefully something will eventually get done.

The airline are the people who are responsible. They employ the baggage staff and this is where the is the problem. They need to be informed everytime, until something is done.

Once again, sorry to hear about your suitcase being broken into.

Can you leave luggage at Malaga Airport

We are arriving at the Malaga Airport in the morning and not leaving until evening.

Is there a safe location at the airport to lock and store our luggage while we spend the day in Malaga?

Thanks for your input

E.

My Reply

Hi E,

Unfortunately there is nowhere you can store your case at the airport. Many people ask this.

There have been many cases being broken into at the airport so make sure there is nothing valuable in it when you put it through the hold.

Sorry cant be more help.

Malaga Airport to Fuengirola & Day Trips

Hi Jo -
I am really enjoying your site which I came across by accident.

I am flying in to Malaga from BC Canada, via UK with family - total of
five adults, for three weeks in December, including Christmas. We are
staying in an apartment in Fuengirola.

One basic question is which would be the best and least expensive way
for us to get around as a group.
Would a taxi from the airport be out of the question for five c/w luggage?

Then once we are settled we hope to do many day trips as the
information I have does not speak too highly of our location.
We'll start with the airport, and then I would really enjoy and appreciate
further input from you.
Thanks from J

Hi J

The train from Malaga Airport goes to Fuengirola. This is the furthest point. So this would probably be the cheapest option. Taxis only carry max 4 people so you would have to pay for 2 which will be alot more expensive.

With regards to day trips etc, here are all the websites that have time tables and routes etc. You are quite lucky having the train station in Fuengirola as you can get to Malaga.

Here in Marbella, we are just reliant on buses.

Malaga Bus Station

Buses in Andalucia

Portillo Buses

Renfe Trains

Places to go. Malaga City is a great city and not too far away. There you have the picasso museum.

Granada...Alahambra Palace. Beutiful gardens, lots of history etc etc and as a city.

Sierra Nivada is in Granada, up the mountains where there is skiing available.

Gibraltar

Theres lots to do and if you are happy jumping on trains and buses, its quite cheap.

Another thing you could do is pop into one of the bigger hotels nearby and see what daytrips they do. Many coaches stop at the hotels for these trips.

I hope you have a good time.

Malaga Airport to Nerja

I am coming to Malaga Airport in November with my elderly mother and we need to travel to Nerja.

Can we simply catch a taxi there from the front of Malaga Airport and what should we pay ?

I have tried to get prebook internet quotes from a couple of firms but they didn't respond so that gave me no confidence. Im trying to be careful about this as I have someone special to take care of.

Many thanks if you can help.

Hi E.

Just outside the arrivals hall at Malaga Airport is always a queue of taxis. Generally they should be around 1€ a km. On Google Maps its about 70 km So I would expect to pay around 70 - 75 euros.

I have gone to our malaga-airport-guide.com then to airport transfers Transfer Company Quote on our Website where you will see its 89pounds each way.

The private transfer is more expensive, but if you dont speak any spanish, then sometimes taxis can work out very expensive, if you get one of the few that try it on! All taxis have a book / chart so you can always ask to look at their book to check price before you leave.

I hope you have a lovely trip

Jo

Malaga Airport to Calahonda

It is my 1st visit to Costa del Sol and wondered if you knew of the cheapest way to get from the Malaga Airport to Calahonda.

I will be travelling late October.

Thank you in anticipation

My Reply...

Calahonda isnt that easy.

Option 1. You could get the airport bus to Marbella Bus Station 4€ then change buses and go back to Calahonda. Buses here is the link for the bus service to fuengirola and get off at Calahonda.

Option 2. Get the train from Malaga Airport to Fuengirola and then get a bus from Fuengirola to Calahonda.

Hope this is of use
