Marbella

Marbella Town

We used to love Marbella and spent quite a lot of time around Marbella in the Town, Main Street and along the sea front. There's a lovely promenade to walk along too. But at the moment its looking a little sad with lots of shops closing down around the Town. This is what happens when a Shopping Centre opens close by and that's La Canada Shopping Centre. The Old Town is still lovely. Marbella is both an area and a town! It can be a little confusing but both are worth a visit.

Marbella the area, stretches from Calahonda in the East to just past San Pedro in the west and contains some of the Costa Del Sol and Spain's most expensive real estate! It is just 30 minutes from Malaga Airport, one of the busiest Airports in Spain.

It is increasingly becoming home to more and more UK residents as they search out a new life in a better climate. Costa Del Sol Temperatures are among the best in Europe with 320 days of sunshine.

Here is a quick video about Marbella brought to Malaga Airport Guide by Sol Channel.

Things to do in Marbella

Marbella infoFor sightseeing go to Marbella Town and head for Plaza De Los Naranjos (Orange Square) which is a wonderful Spanish Square with a beautiful Town Hall and a Tourist Information Shop where you can get maps, tourist guides, etc.

There are also Street Markets some where in Marbella almost everyday. If you want a real taste of Spanish life then head for the one in Marbella Town or in San Pedro. Both have that "Spanish" touch and you can easily spend a few hours wandering around. One word of advice, many shops in Marbella do take siesta and are closed between 2:00 and 4.30 pm Monday to Friday and only open on Saturday Mornings.
