What is the Marbella Weather Really Like?
Marbella weather really is fantastic, most of the time hence the reason so many people move here.
Most of the time the sun is shining, but when it rains . . . the heavens really do open! Last year summer started a little later than normal. May was still a little cool and then it got very very hot in June and the Summer of 2008 was fantastic.
The weather can change enormously driving up and down the coast. Numerous times we leave Marbella and drive towards Malaga where its not so nice. Or we have driven towards Gibraltar where its pouring with rain. Yesterday in the early hours of the morning we had thunderstorms. At 10:00 it was hot and sunny yet in Malaga it was pouring down.
I'll give you a quick run down of the weather and what you should bring when coming on Holiday in Marbella.
January, February & March
It's winter and there are no carpets here so bring socks / slippers for walking around in. The floors get chilly. Best to bring layers, a waterproof & umbrella. However, this year 2008 the weather has been fantastic and hot enough for sunbathing, so it would be best to bring a mixture of clothes.
April & May
Generally quite nice weather, not too chilly during the day, but may need something lightweight in evening. It can and has rained in April really heavily so a waterproof and umbrella would be good along with more sunbathing clothing.
June, July, August, September
Generally really lovely months. You have to be pretty unlucky to have bad days, but it can happen- Last year it even rained for one day in August ...incredible! Lots of bikinis & shorts and maybe a thin jacket / cardigan. Lots and lots of sun cream.
October
October is quite a nice month when it usually starts to get chilly for us as we live here but people on holiday are still sunbathing when possible on the beach. Can rain, so bring a little of everything.
November & December
It just starts to get chilly in November and you have to put the blankets back on the beds. In the evening, I'm wearing a coat, but people on holiday are still in T-shirts. Floors are cold so bring socks and slippers to walk around in.
