Malaga Airport Shopping

Shops at Malaga Airport

Malaga Airport Shopping facilities are good, but do not expect them to be like Heathrow, Gatwick or Manchester. This is not such a bad thing though as when I used to travel through this airport a lot I spent a fortune on duty free before goods before I even got on the aeroplane!

There are plenty of places to stock up on duty free goods, presents and even buy a designer outfit from Hugo Boss or Tommy Hilfiger.

If you want to find out where you can get something to eat and drink visit our guide to Bars & Restaurants at Malaga Airport.

Shops in Terminal 1 Before Security

malaga airport shoppingIn Terminal 1 there is a large Gift Shop and Farmacia/Chemist which is open from 09:30-22:00: a Post office open Monday to Friday 08:30-14:30 & Saturday 09:30-13:00. Lost Property is located here as well as an Oratorio Chapel which is open from 08:00-22:00. There is also an outside terrace if you need that quick last cigarette.

Below is a list of shops at Malaga Airport. Unless stated they all are in Terminal 2 after security.

Other Information on Malaga Airport Shopping

If you are meeting someone in the Malaga Airport arrivals hall, the best place to meet is in Bar del Golf which sells snacks, and sandwiches.

In the Malaga Airport departures hall before you check in there are a couple of cafes and a newspaper shop, but it is probably best to go straight through to the departures area as this is where you will find the best selection of shops and a Hagaan Daz's ice cream parlour!

The usual familiar brand names of duty free goods are on sale here so there is not much point in buying items before you get to Malaga Airport because you can only transport them in your hold luggage and run the risk of breakage.

Another option is to get the train from the airport to the Maria Zambrano Station in Malaga and then do some serious shopping at the large Vialia Shopping Mall based there.

If you are keen to get some last minute shopping done then Plaza Mayor is a large entertainment complex is just 5 minutes away from the airport along with a large Ikea store.
