Buses at Malaga Airport
If you are going to take a bus from Malaga Airport you can either catch the Direct Malaga Airport Bus which goes to Marbella Bus Station with no stops on the way or you can opt for the number C19 which goes into Malaga City with a number of stops on the way.
You will find the bus stop on the forecourt outside the new Malaga Airport Terminal 3
Malaga Airport Bus from Malaga to Marbella Bus Station
The Airport Bus goes directly from Malaga Airport to Marbella Bus Station via the Toll Road. The journey time is 45 minutes and it costs under €5.00 which is cheaper than the toll road charge during the summer months.
If your final destination is Close to Marbella Bus Station then you have a very cheap and easy journey. If you are not close to Marbella Bus Station then your journey could involve several changes.
Paying: At Malaga Airport you pay the driver direct. At Marbella Bus Station you buy a ticket from the ticket office.
Summary: The Airport Bus is great and cheap and takes just 45 minutes. In winter it runs one bus nearly every 2 hours so you may have to wait a long time and in the summer you may not get on as it can be very busy so you need to make sure you are in the queue. If you don't mind travelling to Malaga City Bus Station there is a new direct service and also indirect service to Marbella Bus Station.

Malaga City Airport Bus C19
The Malaga City Bus C19 goes right into Malaga City (but stops many times). The first bus leaves the airport around 07:00 on most days and the last bus leaves the airport around midnight. Buses from Malaga bus station start at around 06:30 with the last one departing at 23:20.

The building works at Malaga Airport are having an effect on the bus journey into Malaga city centre as the road is being dug up (especially around Maria Zambrano Railway Station) to accommodate the new track, so allow at least 30 minutes for this journey.

From Malaga City Bus Station there are direct express buses to Malaga and Marbella. If you have just missed the Malaga Airport to Marbella Bus it might be worth travelling into Malaga and catching an express bus from there. You can find out more details on the timetables at www.ctsa-portillo.com

Please note that the Malaga Airport Trains only travel as far as Fuengirola to the west, however there are plans for the train line to be extended to Marbella by 2010.
