Carrying Tools in Luggage - Malaga Airport

HiI have two Engineers flying back from Malaga to England tomorrow (Fri 30th March). They have roughly 23kg of tools that they need to bring back. I have spoken to Easyjet and they say it is at the discretion of the airport whether they will allow them to bring back tools, can you advise me to whether they will be likely to? Also, if they take the tools to the airport and then find that they can't take the them, is there anywhere within the airport that they can be kept until a courier can collect?A quick reply would be much appreciated. Many thanksCally

My Reply...

I really dont know for certain im afraid. It really is down to the airline / airport.

There also isnt a luggage store there at Malaga Airport.

If there are any problems, tell them to go to information asap to try and get something sorted.

Faulty Goods at Duty Free Malaga

Good morning
Can you help please. I purchased from the Duty Free outlet of Aldeasa on Wednesday 7th February 2007 a Hugo Boss product for which I paid 26 Euros. This was purchased together with other items and the total bill amounted to 114.50 Euros for which I paid by credit card.
On arriving back in the UK I have now opened the product only to find to my surprise and dismay that the product has already been used and I am left with an empty dispenser.
Can you assist me in contacting the Aldeasa outlet with a view to a full refund or replacement of the goods.

Train from Malaga Airport to Fuengirola

Hello I'm taking up your kind offer of assistance!

We arrive Malaga 21.05 on a weekday; assuming the plane is on time what chance do you think we have of catching the penultimate (22.14) or last train (22.44) to fuengirola. How long will it take us to walk from baggage collection to the departure point? If this is feasible would also be grateful of any information you can give about where exactly we go in the airport to catch the train and where we can buy tickets.

Also do you by any chance know how near Las Rampas Hotel, Pintor Nogales S/N is to the station in fuengirola?

Many thanks!
Alison

My Reply...

Hi Alison,

I would have thought that you will easily catch the last train and with just a little luck the penultimate on.

I cant describe exactly how to get to the train station because there is so much going on at the airport that the route keeps changing (you will see what I mean when you get there).

The best thing to do is simply follow the signs. You can buy tickets from the machine on the platform so it is advisable to have some euro coins handy.

Lastly, I am sorry but I dont know where the hotel is in relation to the train station. The best thing to do is find the Hotel website and I am sure they will have directions.

If all else fails or your flight is late a taxi will cost you around 25 Euros.

Hope all goes well

Regards

Jo

many thanks for this infor Jo much appreciated

Malaga Airport to Tarifa

Hi Jo, We want to get from Malaga airport to tarifa in May. We are happy to get buses and trains but don't want to drive. Any advice on the best way to get there.
Regards
Jay

My Reply...

YOu can get the airport bus from Malaga Airport to Marbella Bus Station.

Then you need to change here to get a bus to Algeciras. Then change again at Algeciras to Tarifa or get a taxi for around 20-30€uros.

Regards

Joanne

Thanks Jo, your help is much appreciated, I wasn't having much luck finding this information. Can you tell me how long does the bus take to get to Marbella and do I need to buy tickets before I get on the bus or on the bus itself?
Regards

My Reply...

The bus from Malaga Airport to Marbella Bus station takes 45 minutes. Here you pay on the bus. From Marbella, you buy tickets from the office.

Best to jump on the airport bus that goes direct to Marbella Bus Station.. Here you can then change buses and catch one to La Linea, just outside Gibraltar.

Motorised Buggies at Malaga Airport

Hi Jo,

we have a freind who has a problem with gout, can we prebook those motorised pick up buggies to run him to the baggage area?

Arriving Sun.

thanks Fred.

My Reply...

Genereally when you get out of the plane there are always buggies waiting. If your friend looks like he needs it, they will take him. If unsure, mention to the stewards on board the plane when arriving.

Smoking in Restaurants in Spain

Hi Jo,Love your web site, but as many of us hate smoke, it would be a nice touchfor you to give information on the smoking policy of each restaurant.I for one will never go to a restaurant where I can not sit in a NO SMOKINGarea.

Robert

My Reply...

Hi Robert,
Unfortunately its not really that straight forward.

The restaurants seem to have all their own rules and it seems that if they have "Se Pemite Fumar" in the window, its ok to smoke.

From now on if I know a restaurant definately doesnt allow smoking I will mark it up.

I also dont like smoking, most awful whilst eating, especially when someone lights up a cigar.

Thanks for your question.

Joanne

Malaga Airport to Benalmadena

I've just found your website. We're planning a trip to Benalmadena and our plane arrives at Malaga airport at 9.45 p.m. Do you know if we will be in time for the last train, bearing in mind it is the winter timetable and we have to get through baggage reclaim and trust the plane is on time.

Any advice welcome.

Best regards and thanks. Angela.

My Reply...

Hi Angela,

The last train for the local www.renfe.es looks like it is at 22.44 from Malaga Airport to Benalmadena.

If all on time you may just catch it, but you will have to be quick.

Failing that, then if not hiring a car then cabs are outside the arrivals hall.

Vueling Airlines from Malaga Airport

Dear Jo,

I am flying to Barcelona on Vueling Airlines. Is the check in in the main departures building or in the smaller building? Thanks - I always use your website!

Sue Pemberton

My Reply...

Hi Susan,

I not 100% sure but would think its just as normal in Terminal 2, the normal big building. And Vueling Airlines operate from Terminal 2 too.

Thats where my husband goes when he flew with click air to barcelona the other day.

If its something different, please let me know then I can post it up.

Im pleased you find the site so useful and if you ever have information about Malaga Airport you think could be of use to other please let me know.

Malaga Airport Trains and Malaga Trains

Malaga Airport Trains and Local Malaga Trains

www.renfe.es is the main trainline in Spain.

There is a trainstation at Malaga Airport.

There are also local trains called Renfe Cercanias

If you leave the main page in Spanish, on the right hand side half way down you can choose the local trains from a list.

Here is a list Local Malaga Trains with local stops, timetable and prices.

From Malaga Airport to Fuengirola which is the furthest you can get to along the Costa Del Sol takes just 35 minutes. You can stop at Benalmadena, Torremolinos, Plaza Mayor and many other places too.
