Parking at Malaga Airport

Hi Jo, I am going to the UK on Tuesday 18th December and returning on the 1st January 2008is P3 and P4 still free parking. Is there a number I should call or can you assure me it will be OK to just turn up on Tuesday Eileen

As far as we are aware P3 is still free. You cannot book so you do need to just turn up. Worse case scenario you also have Parking sur which is about 3.50 per day. You could give the airport a call just to check in advance though. Unfortuantley there are no guarantees. Regards joanne

Malaga to La Linea at Night

Hi Jo,
My flight is arriving from rome to malaga airport atnight 10.35 and from malaga airport i had to travelllalinea bus station as in night time there are no busservices available would you please guide me how toget an transport to reach lalinea.
Thank you.
Ahmed

Hi Mujeeb,The last airport bus from Malaga to Marbella Bus Station is at 23.00. from there you will probably need to take a taxi. Either you need to get the bus then a taxi or a taxi all the way as the buses dont run any later. Or you could stay in a cheap hotel over night and start fresh in the morning. Regards Joanne

Left Luggage Malaga Airport

Hello Jo Can you tell me if there is a 'left-luggage' facility at Malaga Airport? I shall be arriving there quite early in the morning and my outbound flight is not until the evening so it would be handy to leave my luggage while I go out to spend some time in Malaga. Colin Gearon.

Colin,Sorry no left luggage at malaga. best to ask though as maybe the more people that ask the more chance of one going in. El Corte Ingles in Puerto Banus hold bags for 24 hours, maybe the one in malaga does the same. this could be an option. If you do find somewher it would be great to hear from you as this is a common problem. Regards Joanne

Is P3 still free at Malaga

Hello Joanne, I have read on your informative site that there was free parking at the airport (P3 with free bus). Has the world gone insane crazy???? I would be really grateful if you could tell me if this is still available for long stay (ten days). My car is old and I am poor. If not, could you recommend a decent parking firm. Many thanks,Chris.

Hi Christopher.P3 and P4 are still free. If they are full then there is parking sur which charge around 3.50 per day. We dont know when its going to end but probably when they finish the work RegardsJoanne

Malaga Airport to Nerja

Can you please help with above query ? Thanks . Don

Hi Don From the airport you turn right going towards Ikea and San Miguel brewery. The road then splits and you can either stay on the right (down) and go towards Algeciras or you go up on to the bridge towards Velez Malaga. You need to go up onto the bridge and then follow the signs for Velez Malaga / Nerja. If you feel you have gone wrong just look out for signs "cambio de sentido" which is where you can come of and change directions. As long as you drive with the sea on your right you are going in the right direction I hope this helps Regards Joanne

Trains at Christmas in Spain

Hi JoHave been trying to get some times for trains from Malaga to Seville round about 22/01/08 but there doesnt seem to be any listings, I am presuming that the services will be available in January but I am surprised that no times are being shown, any ideas ??? Thanks

Hi Frank I called them the other day....the listings just arnent out yet...same as in the Uk. But they will be running over the Christmas and New Year Period. Regards Joanne

Definately The train website is www.renfe.es or you have the buses http://www.ctsa-portillo.com/ Good luck Any info you think could be useful for other travellers around Malaga would be great. Regards Joanne

Hi JoI am looking for a bit of advice. We visit Marbella regularly usually in January and stay with a friend in Elviria. This year we would like to spend two or three days in Seville but dont really fancy driving all the way.I think if we drove from Elviria to P4 at Malaga airport and took the train from the airport to Malaga Station then took a train to Seville this could prove the easiest and most cost effective way of doing it and we can all enjoy the views. What do you think???RegardsFrank

P3 and P4 to the Airport

Hi Joanne,
Sorry its me again! I have read all the last emails to you and Im wondering about the shuttle bus, is this to and from the airport every 15 minutes (ish) from carpark 3 + 4? What time does the service start running? Im a bit worried as we have an early flight. Will there be taxis around or could I get my husband to drop the kids and I at the terminal building and send him off to park. Im not sure how far away from departures these carparks are (walking distance?). I am familiar with the airport but only use the main carparks! I cant find a carpark map online. Also, if the free carparks are full, do you think it will be possible just to drive in to parking sur. Or is it something you need to book?
Thankyou so much for your help, would like to put my concerns aside..dont want to be stuck in Malaga at 8am with cases, family and nowhere to park!
Cheers.
Sally

Hi,Its a few minutes drive by bus. The shuttle bus does go every 10 to 15 minutes. You could get him to drop you off with cases etc, they cold be best. Its pretty well sign posted P3 & P4. Im not too sure if you can walk it it depends on the works going on there. Parking sur are normally ok, we have just turned up there in the past. Im sure you will be fine. At least if husband drops you and kids of he can run!!! Jo

Hope you can help.
Kind regards

malaga to La Linea

Hi Jo I have seen your website and I was wondering if you could help me......I am flying out to Malaga on friday and I was meant to be getting picked up by a friend and taken to La Linea but that has fallen through and I was wondering if you had some advice on how I can get there as cheap as possible, using public transport. I am going to be on my own and dont speak any Spanish so am quite nervous about what to do?! Hope you can help me

Hi Joanne
Here is a prvious question Malaga to La Linea As mentioned the cheapest way is bus. Outside the airport is a fast airport bus direct to Marbella Bus Station. It now runs every couple of hours so you may have to hang around a bit. Then get a bus to La Linea from there. All links above.
Regards Joanne

Words in Spanish to help with Disability

Hi Jo, hope you dont mind me emailing you - I think the information you have on Malaga Airport is brilliant, particularly regarding the "buggies" for the disabled. My mother, who is severely disabled, and myself are travelling back to Malaga this Christmas/New Year and have requested one thru the travel agent. We were just lucky last year that we had to on arrival, and coming back - it was the one thing that was putting us off going back there, which was a shame as we stayed at a beautiful hotel. Anway, what I would really like is some words in Spanish - I know a little but what I'd like to say in Spanish is - We need a buggy! -. Would really appreciate it if you could help me there. Muchos gracias

Hi Lynda,Im pleased you find the information useful, but we always do require information from people themselves to keep information up to date especially with regards to Disability. The word for wheelchair is Silla de Ruedas (seeya de rooedas). Por Favor Puede ayudarme (is please could you help me) Mi Madre no puede andar (my mother cannot walk) I hope this is of some use.
Good Luck Jo

thank you Jo for your email - only thing is I would like the Spanish word for buggie not wheelchair - sorry to be a bother, you were so kind to send me the phrases. The buggie would be more useful as I would be able to be with her on it. Thank you again, and I will let you know how we got on when we return - it could be helpful to other people with disabilities as you said. Many many thanks Lynda Carrick

Formally the word buggy is Calesa in Spanish...although this could also be for a kids buggy. Cochecito is the word for Pushchair too. When the plane lands the buggies are generally wiating for people just outside the door so it could be a case of just pointing....although I also like to know all the words and what to say just in case. Good Luck RegardsJoanne

thank you Jo for your help, have a very lovely Christmas, cheers Lynda

Malaga to Fuengirola or Marbella

Hi Jo, Just a query, 6 of us flying out to Malaga on 17th Jan 08 we have hired a 7 seater car from airport as we are staying in Elviria. A 7th member of our party is travelling alone the next day to join us due to work committments is there a bus or train he can use to get to Marbella or Puerto Banus even better Elviria and we can pick him up from there as last time we got a cab to the apartment in Elviria it was about 60 euros per cab which is a bit much for 1 person to pay. Is there a bus or train he arrives about 9pm local time Friday night, how much would it cost and how long would journey take. And where would be easiest place to meet him for him and us ie in Marbella town, Elviria or Peurto Banus?

Hi Lida, The Airport bus from Malaga Airport to Marbella Bus station takes 45 minutes and costs just 4€uros. Then you can arrange to meet there. The bus station is on the N340 just the next junction past La canada Shopping Centre from your Direction. Or you could get the train from Malaga Airport to Fuengirola which is about 30 minutes and also pretty cheap. Then you could pick him up from there. Either Way you will have to drive so its pretty much of a muchness. Good Luck

Maybe marbella bus stattion is easier. Arrange to meet inside at the cafe. Jo
