Airport bus on Sunday from Malaga to Marbella

HI

Please can you confirm that the Express Bus from Malaga Airport to Marbella Bus Station runs on Sundays. Most websites say they do but I saw one website which said no. I am arriving on Sunday 12 August and leaving on Sunday 19 August.

I would be grateful if you could let me have this information as soon as possible and also confirm the cost.

Many thanks

Sarah

Hi Sarah
Yes they run on Sundays. Lunes a Domingo ( Monday to Sunday)

Buses around San Pedro

Hi Jo We are going to San Pedro (apartment near Atalaya Park Hotel) on 8th September and we are unsure at the moment whether to hire a car or do trips on the local buses which can be just as good and very cheap. Are there local buses going to Benahavis,Ronda ,Gibraltar ?
I think if I need to get to Mijas I would need to get a bus to Fuengirola and then change…is this right? Also is there a big supermarket near San Pedro ? Grateful for any ideas that you have ,I have been checking out the previous posts and this is so good for information, really pleased that I found this!!
Thanks a lot Tracey

My Reply...

Hi Tracey

Here is the website for the buses you need.

http://www.ctsa-portillo.com/

In San Pedro, there are a number of supermarkets including Mercadona, Cayetano, Open Cor.

Personally, if I was going to visit all these places, I would hire a car as its much easier and quicker, but many people dont like driving and dont mind being a bus.

I hope you have a good trip. You can find more info at https://malaga-airport-guide.com/

Regards

Joanne

Hi Jo
Thank you so much for sending this information to me. I have now printed off the bus timetables (now the website is working again) and managed to work out a few journeys that we plan to do while being there, can't believe how cheap it is on the buses !!
Looking forward to the holiday and thanks again,so pleased I found your link on the website because it is so helpful to people staying on the Costa del Sol.

Malaga Airport to Algeciras by bus

We are a family of 5 and wonder what I the best way to get from Malaga airport to Algericas. We have lots of time and not quite as much money. I think a taxi will be very expensive but are the buses very slow – will there be big queues?

Vince

The Cheapest way would be bus.

Here is the website for the buses from Malaga to Algeciras
2 Options. Either get the fast airprot bus from Malaga Airport to Marbella Bus Station and Change or got to Malaga Bus Station and get a bus direct which takes around 3 hours.

Taxi would be quick but expensive and you would need 2 as they only take 4 passengers.

YOu could look at airport transfers at malaga-airport-guide.com

Good luck

Regards

Joanne

Jo,

Many thanks for the advice. We will likely take one of he bus options as we have plenty of time. Will let you know how it works out.

Hiring a card without Credit Card Malaga Airport

Hi Jo,

I’m arriving at Malaga airport this Friday and will have a similar problem as others, i.e. my credit card that I have ordered won’t arrive on time and all the operators so far that I have spoken to won’t hire without one. There was a mention on the blog that stated “There is a car hire place just round the corner from La Maestranza before Open Cor”

Do you know if they still hire with a deposit and where / what the name of the firm is. Are they walking distance from the airport?

Many thanks

Danny

Hi Danny
Here is the link to all questions about hireing a car without credit card. Just the other day someone emailed me saying that they hired through Crown Car hire. All in the below link.Car Hire with out credit card
La Maestranza is an urbanisation in Nueva Andalucia, 50 mintues from the airport....this was a local person wanting to hire, not from the airprot.

I hope this helps

Lost Sunglasses on Plane at Malaga

Hi Jo,

I left my sunglasses on the Easyjet flight 2413 from Luton to Malaga last Saturday 14th July. They fell out of my handbag when I put it under the chair in front of me. They are designer glasses in a soft black case with a popper clip to close. I can't remember the make, but the arm pieces have a little heart shape cut out of them (if I have remembered correctly). Could you please check with lost property and see if the cleaning staff handed them in. I really miss them.

Thanks.

Train Stops Between Malaga Airport and Fuengirola

Dear Jo
I have two questions:

1 Can you please give me the names of all the train stations between Malaga and Fuengirola
2 Do all the trains between Malaga and Fuengirola stop at all the stations ?

I see that you have referred other enquirers to the Renfe website. I have tried it but cannot find the information I want.
I hope you will be able to help me.
Gracias
Abraham Retief

Hi Abraham,

Firstly go to www.renfe.es then on the right hand side towards the bottom it says "selectione une optione" Click and go to MALAGA.

Then Click on PLANO here you will be able to see all the stations. You have main line and the local lines which is this one.

I think that all the trains stop at every station on the local lines.

Lost Laptop at Malaga Airport

Hi,Is there an email address for lost luggage because, the phoneline isconstantly engaged.I left my bag this afternoon around the gate C44. It is a quite smallrucksack containting a Fujitsu Siemanns Laptop.

Can you help me.

Regards,

There is no email address only the telephone numbers which everyone is saying is engaged.

If you can get to the airport or get someone else to go, this would probably be the best chance to get your bag back. Maybe also try calling the airline that you flew with at Malaga, maybe one of their staff found it when everyone boarded.

Malaga to Tangier, Buses and Boats

Hi Jo,

Three of us are travelling from England via Malaga to Tangier. We land at 20.45 in Malaga airport and were wondering if we would be able to catch the latest ferry or boat from spain into Tangier..Is there one and which one is the quickest.
It may be that we need to stay the night in Malaga…in which case whats the earliest to Tangier and whats the quickest route? We would prefer to be in Tangier that evening if possible..is it possible?

Kind regards

Ibrar Ahmed Hussain

Firstly here is a great website with lots of information on about Algeciras to Tangier.

Here is a list of the fast airport bus which goes from Malaga Airport to Marbella Bus Station.
You would then need to change at Marbella Bus Station to get to Algeciras

Here is the buses from Marbella to Algeciras, but the last bus is about 8.30pm

The quickest way to get to Algeciras would be Taxi as there is no train beyond Fuengirola. It will cost quite alot. The Cheapest way would be bus, Airport to Marbella, Marbella to Algeciras.

Im dont know much about the boat timetables, but have alook at the website above.

It may be best to stay at the Ibis Hotel near Malaga Airport or Stay at the Hotel at Marbella Bus Station (sorry dont know the name).

I hope this is of use.

My mobile is 686 84 36 96 my name is Kim

Thank you in anticipation

Kim Puddle

Hi Kim,
Im sorry, we are not the airport, only try and give as much information as possible

902 404 704 is the main aena number - you could speak to someone there and then try get put through to someone in Malaga.
I will put your email up on the message board, you never know the other person with your case may get in touch to, then I could exchange yournumbers.

have a look at www.aena.es Malaga You could try calling someof the baggage handlers depending on the airline she flew with.

Im sorry i cannot be any more help, but hopefully, the other person will contact me, like you have.

Personally, if you are here in Marbella, i would go to Malaga Airport and try sort it out there. I dont think things get sorted too well over the phone. If the other person didnt pick your case up then it is there in the airprot in left / lost luggage....I think this is your best option.

I have put the email up and if anyone emails in I will let you know.

They tell me that if personel on board findsthe wallet, they will turn it in at Lost luggage at Malaga Airport. Malaga to Fuengirola by Train

hi jo just asking for your advice. i saw your help line on the internet. meand my partner and travling to FUENGIROLA on the 14th aug, is the trainsgood or would there be hold ups due to rail works ect, if so would it beeasyer and much money the get a taxi.and is there any sort of boat trips ect for day time activaty. we are onlythere for 5 days but would like to see abit of the sights.regaurds alex .

The train is probably the quickest and cheapest way of getting to Fuengirola. you can find more at www.renfe.es and then going to the cercanias Line Malaga. Takes around 30 mintues by train.

To drive from Malaga Airport to Fuengirola its about 26 km. We normally work on 1euro per km plus a little extra. So id say between 30 and 35 euros for a taxi.

Im not too sure about boat trips. If you hired a car you could drive to Algeciras or Tarifa and get a ferry acrros to Morocco. Theres some big boats that come into Malaga. Could be an idea to pop into one of the big hotels near by and seeing what day trips they organise and join in.

I hope this is of use.

Estepona to Granada Day Trip

Hi Jo
My friend and I are staying in Estepona next week and we would like to visit Grenada for the day. Would we have to go on a coach trip (because my friend isn't a brilliant traveller on coaches) or is there any other way we could get there?
Thanks

Hi Susan,
Best thing would be to go to one of the local hotels for local day trips. There is no train service in Estepona so it would be by coach or go back to Malaga and get the train. You can find all information at www.renfe.es

Hi Jo.

Do you know if there are any supermarkets which are open Sunday, around the airport or on the way to Montefrio.

Hi Jan,
I dont know Montefrio at all.

Normally most supermarkets are closed on Sundays...Just maybe markets or if you find a shop called OpenCor, this is open all day every day.

At the moment most of the shopping centres in Marbella / Malaga are open on Sundays during the summer.

Sorry i cannot be more precise.

Malaga Airport to Benalmadena Minerva Jupiter Complex

Hi JoHow would you recommend 1person travel from Malaga airport to Benalmadena Minerva Jupiter complex.Would a taxi be best. Thank you,
John

If you dont mind spending a few euros, I think taxi is the quickest and easiest way. The train only goes as far Fuengirola, which you could probably use and it would then mean getting a taxi from there or a bus and try to find the complex.

Im not 100% certain where exactly this complex and if its your first time, taxi normally starts your holiday off good. Taxis have a book which gives you what prices you should be paying from the airport. It shouldnt really be more than 25euros - I dont think!

Have a good holiday

Regards

Joanne
www.malaga-airport.guide.com

Hi Jo,Thank you for your quick response. One more question, once I am in Benalmadena is it very easy to get to Marbella. I will not have a car so what would be the best way to get there. This will be my first time in Spain. I am from Minnesota in the US. Will I have lots of fun. Thanks again.John

You will have to rely either on Buses or Taxis. Therre is no train past Fuengirola. Taxi will probably cost between 30 and 40 euros each way.

If you wanted to go to a few places I would say hire a car but some people dont like to drive.

If you dont mind paying for taxis or waiting for buses, then you will be ok!

Theres lots to do and see here if you are here for a while.

Where are the VIP lounges? Europa Lounge: for passengers belonging to all airlines; located in T-2 P1, behind the security checkpoint
Costa del Sol Lounge: for conferences and groups, prior to authorisation from Aena; it lies in the T-2 mezzanine (bay B).
Rompedizo Lounge: for private flight passengers; it lies in T-3.

It seems that its mainly for business hire.

Malaga Airport to Cabopino

hi jo,
we are having a family holiday at a villa on the calle de los alcatones, carib playa, marbella and was wondering if you could advise on the best route by car from malaga airport.

also just found out there are nudist and gay beaches, are they away from were we are staying?

regards

peter

My Reply...

Hi Peter,

I have found this which gives pretty good instructions. Im not 100% sure exactly about the area but have heard that at Cabopino Beach there is an area for nudist and that its quite a gay area....but its just what I have heard.

You can have a good search on www.googlemaps.com but I think I would stay on the normal N340 until you see the signs for Cabopino.

Basically, when you come out of the airport you want to head for Algeciras / Cadiz. there is the N340 which is the road you want. You turn right from the airport continue on the right and the past the San Miguel Building. Then there is a Big Car Garage (bmw I think on the right) and you want to bear right there....at Benalmadena you can get on the toll road, but I think it best to stay on the N340.
I hope this is clear

Taxis at Malaga Airport to Guadalmina

hey i have a flight getting in in the early hours of the morning on the 2nd of august approx. 1 am and am wanting to get a txi to guadalmina for only one person do u think u could help me find out prices and whether taxis will be available at that time thanks very much

My Reply...

Hi Mike,

Generally there are always taxis at the airport as you come out of arrivals. On the wall when you come out is a board with prices on (sometimes the buggers cover it up). There is also a price chart book that they have in their car which you can ask to see if they dont get it out.

I would think it will be about 80€uros. They do charge for late at night at little extra.

Reward for camera Stolen at Malaga Airport

I was really hoping you could help in some way.

We travelled through Malagaairport yesterday (6/7) and upon arriving home, realised that our camera hadbeen removed from our case.

The monetary value is not really a concern but this is likely to be our last holiday as a family, as my daughter has aterminal condition, therefore, the photos mean everything to me. Do you knowof an email address I could use to contact the airport to put up a reward? Iam not concerned with getting anybody into trouble but having the camerareturned to me would mean the world. I would really appreciate any adviceyou could give. Many Thanks
Connie

My Reply...

Dear Connie,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Here is a previous question with all the telephone numbers. There is no email address.

Each airline uses different baggage handlers. So, it would be a good idea to get in touch with your airline direct (head office) and see which baggage handlers they are using.

This is a common problem at Malaga Airport and I receive emails every day. Unfortuantely, noone is doing anything about it, but I do say that you must tell your airline and inform as many people as possible in order for one day something to happen.

Im sorry that your camera is missing and about your daughter and I will put your message up in the hope that someone may know something about it.

Kind regards

Malaga to Faro

Hi Joe,

I wonder if you can help me. I am trying to find out about a bus that goes from malaga sta tation to faro. (Alzo bus?)

My son is staying with friends and has to meet up with me on the 15th of july.

Do you know what time the bus leaves?. Does it oprerate on a Sunday? How long does it take? and What price?

I would be so grateful if you could help me, I have gone down so many avenues and ended in a cul de sac.

Kindest regards,

Marjorie Wright

My Reply...

Hi Marjorie,
Here is as much info as possible I can give.

Below are links to all the websites you need
You can choose wheter to go by train or bus from Malaga to Seville

Buses from Malaga to Seville

Buses between Seville and Faro

Train from Malaga to Seville

It is quite far and we drive it from Marbella in about 4.5 hours. So do expectit to take a little longer by public transport.

It would be great to hear how you got on.

Malaga Airport to Fuengirola

Just discovered your information "oasis," how helpful is that????.

Having scrolled down through previous questions, would you still suggest the train to Fuengirola and then a taxi on to Mijas Costa.
Also I am arriving a couple of hours prior to my partner and daughter. Is there somewhere suitable to wait in the arrivals side at Malaga (ie a bar, cafe etc).

Thanks, Martin.

My Reply...

Hi Martin,

As you come out of arrivals there is The Golf Bar on the left hand side which really is the only place to sit and have a drink. Its not that great, but its somewhere.

If on a budget and dont want to spend the money on taxi then I would say yes, get the train to the last stop and then catch a taxi or bus to Mijas Costa, your destination. The train website is http://www.renfe.es/ go to Cercanias (local lines Malaga).

Have a good time.

Jo, thanks for your advice last week regarding the option of catching the train to Fuengirola from the airport. I did however end up booking a taxi on line via . The contact there is a Snr Francisco Barroso and he is really helpful. The cab was there waiting and I booked it to collect me again to return to the airport yesterday from Club La Costa at Mijas (17 miles)
The cost was 40 euros each way and was worth it because of the service and reliabilty. Would recommend and use again.

Thanks, Martin

Alamo Car Rental Malaga Airport

Hi I would like to know how to get to alamo car rental counter from arrivals hall...Richard

My Reply...

There are alot of works going on at the airport so things may have changed, but...

When you collect your luggage, walk towards the exit doors to arrivals hall, but dont go through the doors. Just before on your right you go downstairs to the car hire.

If not then ak someone there as things may be moved around abit.
