Monda Castle

At the beginning of last year we stayed in La Fuente Del Sol Hotel in Antequera. On the way back we drove through the back roads which went through, Alora, Pizzara, Coin and past Monda.

Monda is a small village a few minutes drive past La Canada Shopping Centre and Ojen. At the top of it is a castle "Monda Castle". I had been to Monda in the past but didn't like the look of the hill up to the Castle. But this time after driving so much in Spain we went up to see it. The hill is very very steep but its only a short hill and takes a couple of minutes.

The Castle is beautiful and on Sundays they have Sunday lunch in the lovely decorated restaurant and this Sunday there was a belly dancer as the entertainment. The castle is also a hotel and there is an outside pool although, I did get a bit dizzy looking over the edge!

There is a bar area where we sat and had a quick sandwich before heading home. It is really a lovely place to go and see.

They also have numerous other events at the Castle including weddings, if anyone is thinking of getting married!

Getting to Monda is about 40 minutes from Malaga Airport. At La Canada turn off if you continue up the hill and follow the signs for Monda. Its

Also in Monda is the Marbella Gun and Country Club that has a restaurant, pool, bar and numerous other activities including, quad bikes, clay pigeon shooting, archery and much more. If you are someone that would rather be doing something exciting than sitting by the pool, then this is a good place for you.

There is so much to explore around the Costa Del Sol other than the usual haunts.
