Aloha College
Aloha College celebrated 25 years of operation a couple of years ago. It was originally built in 1982 and was extended in 2004 and is now able to take students from 3 years old to 18 years old. Aloha is a non profit organisation.
Aloha College like ICS (international College of San Pedro) is on 1 site but there are 2 separate areas for Primary and Secondary. At Aloha they do follow The English Curriculum but also the Spanish which allows students to gain qualifications in both British and Spanish Examination Boards just as Swans and also ICS and numerous other International Schools
Last year Aloha College built a new section for pre-school for 3 -5 year olds and they start Spanish Language from this age which is very important as before 6 year old kids are like sponges and just soak everything up.
Aloha College follow the IB (International Baccalaureate) which most universities world wide consider to be a highly regarded qualification. To read more information about IB click the above link. As we haven't approached this stage with our daughter, I don't feel I am a good person to talk about it further.
There are a whole range of nationalities at Aloha College including English, Spanish, German, Swedish, Dutch...the list goes on.
Our Experience of Aloha College
We went to see Aloha a while back and were very impressed with it. Mrs Bachelor who is the Head Mistress for the small school is very nice and welcoming and we loved the way that we weren't just seeing a member of admin to look around but the Head Mistress herself.
The Pre-School for 3 to 5 year olds was lovely and the primary school was also lovely inside. There are lots of sport activities at Aloha...they do not have a swimming pool though which bother some people. For me, we have a pool on our urbanisation so its not important to have one in the school.
Aloha College Hours
A school days is from 09.00 to 15.50 for Primary and 09.00 to 16.05 for Secondary. There is a school bus that runs too. Most schools start and finish around the same time give or take 10 to 15 minutes.
