Just like ICS, Aloha College, Swans, Alboran School which is a Spanish Private School takes children from 3 years to 18 years old. The school was founded in 1986. It follows the IB International Bachillerato and as they say on their website is "officially recognized by the Consejería de Educación y Ciencia (Science and Education Council) of la Junta de Andalucía (the Andalusian Government)".

As like many Private Schools in Marbella Alboran´s aim is to achieve a high standard of education which will bring about academic success and entry to university.

The school is on a large plot and has many facilities including, swimming pool, football pitch, basketball courts and even a farm school and stables. They also have a fully equipped music department, laboratories and computer room with rapid internet aces.

We went to see the school a couple of years ago as we were interested in the Private Spanish Education. We were very surprised when we got there as we had never seen a school like it. It was in the Campo (Countryside) and it was lovely. Not particularly new or modern but it was in open fields with farm area, horses and cows just wandering around. As soon as we got there we loved it. We met with the secretary who was very warm and friendly and spoke fantastic English. There was a lot of work going on at the school too. Children were coming in and out and there was a lovely atmosphere between the students and teachers. We were told that many of the children were Spanish but there was also English, German and many other nationalities in the school too. We were told that there wasn't any room for our daughter at that time, although we also felt that it was a little further away than we wanted.

The school hours change for different years. But generally from the begriming of summer and in September the hours are 08.30 to 15.15. The winter months are 09.30 to 17.15 finishing at 15.15 on Fridays. So quite long hours especially with activities after school, then kids will be finishing around 6.30pm.

We are awaiting the latest prices. But in 2006 for a 4 / 5 year old the price was around 387.20€ per month that includes bus, food and education. So a lot cheaper than the International Schools Its also on a 10 month period as kids are off the whole of July and August. On top of this you need to pay for materials, medico insurance and any extra activities you wish to do.
