Estepona Restaurants
Because Estepona is an area as well as a Town, to list every single restaurant would be too difficult and if I was to try and list every single restaurant in Estepona, I guarantee that before I have finished typing them all one restaurant would have closed down to be replaced by yet another.
So instead we will be writing personally about a few of the ones that we visit ourselves and on recommendations from friends. That way, its the truth, plus the fact that we don't get paid to go and eat in these restaurants for advertising, means you get good honest information. Not the usual drool that's sometimes listed in Magazines using fancy words that you need a dictionary for all basically meaning, wonderful, fantastic etc.
We quite like Estepona Port, there are lots of restaurants and cafes along the Port. We often sit in one of the cafes for a toastie and coffee. Papadellis Pizzeria has recently opened in Estepona Port. We haven't been there yet but have been to the one in Puerto Banus and La Caņada, which is quite good
Peggottys Fish & Chips
A good old favourite of everyone is Pegottys Fish & Chips that is in Benavista which is before Estepona. You can eat in or takeaway. Big portions of good British Fish & Chips, mushy peas, beans, burgers and lots more to choose from. We love it, but do come out feeling completely stuffed and wished we never ate so much. Stack up on the Rennies is you haven't eaten it in a while. They are also opening another Peggottys in La Campana, Nueva Andalucia.
You can find all the information you need on Peggottys Website
Robbies, Estepona
Ever since we moved here we heard about a restaurant in Estepona Old Town that's like a little house with pictures all over the walls. Well we finally found it and went to it this year. It was exactly that - a restaurant in a house with pictures of old film stars all over it. It was quite dark and Chintzy looking with flowers and gold everywhere. The service was very good and the food was good too. Selection of meats and fish. Not particularly cheap, looking around 100€uros for 2 people for 3 courses. But nice atmosphere and good service. Telephone Number 952 802 121 . In the old Town kind of behind Benetton.
Mai Tai, Laguna Village
We´ve now been a couple of times to Mai Tai in Laguna Village. The first time was fantastic, food, service everything. Then the next time, the chicken came out raw and lucky that it was so hot that my daughter spat it out. This wasn't so nice and we were very disappointed with the dessert too, we had an apology but nothing else, not even a coffee on the house.. If you do go - go on a nice sunny day and sit outside, order slowly so you can relax between each course and enjoy the lovely setting. They also have a kids menu. Its not cheap and because of our bad experience it may be a while before we go back. Telephone number is 0034 962 923095. Open from 12 to 1am. You can find more information on Mai Tai Website.
Tikitano Restaurant, Estepona
This restaurant was the place to be a few years back, but seems to have calmed down a little now. We still have not been there to eat yet, but have been inside and it was lovely in a beautiful setting. Many of our friends have been and they have really enjoyed it there although it is not cheap. For a starter expect to pay around 15euros and a main course up to 30€uros. They also do sunday lunch for 56€.. You can find more information on their website www.tikitano.net Telephone number 0034 952 792 820.
Bar Simonette, Estepona.
This review is by some good friends of ours who are from Duchy Estates in Estepona who sell property in Estepona, its so good you´d think they owned the restaurant but I assure you they don't ... Spanish restaurant serving the freshest fish from Sea bass, Dorado, Sole to a plate of mixed fried fish. A big selection of seafood from grilled prawns, clams, mussels, boquerones to octopus or crab. Fresh prepared mixed salads with a wonderful garlicky olive oil & vinegar dressing. A tapas bar where you take your pick from Red pepper salad to potato salad. And obviously loads more .........................Prices range from mixed salad 5€ to a plate of clams 9€ or a beautiful Sea bass for two cooked in garlic and served with tomato & onion salad 20€ - 25€. Their homemade chips are too die for. Reasonable prices unless you order loads like us!!! Open every day for lunch and dinner closed Mondays. Telephone: 952 791 455.
